- I've noticed that some of you have PCs, so I was wondering if you've tried
- any of the available free DOOM engines for that machine?
-
- I'm not sure how many there are, but I've fetched two which are distributed
- will full source code. One, WAX, seems to be pretty much like BAD MOOD, but
- it handles the sprites in the latest version. The other, which I can't
- remember the name of, was supplied with a sample game and actually does
- some kind of height field for the floors if you want!
- The pictures of the latter look very nice indeed.
-
- Since I don't have access to a PC myself and my modem connection to the
- University has been a bit unstable, I have not even looked at the sources
- of either engine yet. There should be lots of things we could use, though,
- (if the copyright notices allows it) such as the sector/line checks
- (anti-ghost) and perhaps the sprite handling.
